Solaria Weyr Founded in Turn 165 of the Sixth Interval, Solaria Weyr is the seventh Weyr of Pern. Though planned to house the overspill of other Weyrs, it is also a Weyr in its own right, and protects its own land. It was established in an extinct volcano on the Southern continent, on a tip of land by near Great Bay. Riders were eager to request a transfer to it when it was populated, lured by the prospect of tropical weather. Now, Solaria finds itself a Turn away from the Eighth Pass. Clutches have started to become more frequent and larger in size, and thanks to the insistence of Weyrleaders throughout the Interval, traditional training has been upheld, meaning that the Weyr is ready to face Thread when it returns. Not that everyone shares this view – small pockets of people are certain that Thread has gone forever, there having been almost 200 Turns without it. Other recent events, within the last ten Turns, include females Impressing to greens and even to blues, though the latter is still extremely rare. Even female Impressions to green are not that common – old ways of thinking are still holding strong in some places, and girls are often forbidden by their families to accept Search when there is no gold egg. Likewise, many Crafts are prejudiced against female members. Solaria Weyr is a canon, AU role-play game based on the ‘Dragonriders of Pern’ series of books by Anne McCaffrey. Our aim is to provide a fun game with interesting plots that involve everyone, no matter what character they may play. This is the second incarnation of canon Solaria Weyr, and some of our history reflects what has occurred in the first incarnation. Presently, we are particularly looking for a number of character concepts. We have one female bluerider available, several female greenriders, and are also taking applications for a goldrider. We are also seeking characters to fill Wingleader and Wingsecond positions, among others. A full list can be seen hereOur next up-coming event is a Turnover celebration towards the end of August. After that, the Senior gold Ilayth will be clutching, and spring games will also soon be upon us. We also have a number of plots planned. Our address is solariaweyr.proboards74.com, and we are happy to answer any questions here and on the site’s Cbox. Hope to see you around!

Founded in Turn 165 of the Sixth Interval, Solaria Weyr is the seventh Weyr of Pern. Now, the Red Star has been framed by the Eye Rock at the beginning of the Turn, and to many that is proof enough that Thread is returning for an Eighth Pass. For others, however, this is not proof enough: after all, there have been 200 Thread-free Turns, so surely it is not going to fall again? But clutches have started to become more frequent and larger in size, and thanks to the insistence of Weyrleaders traditional training has been continued so that the Weyr is prepared to fight Thread, despite its low numbers. Tragically, Senior Weyrwoman Miori suffered a heart attack not long before the hatching of her dragon's clutch, and slipped into a coma. Although all eighteen eggs hatched healthy dragons, only a few days later Miori passed on. Almerion is now the interim Senior with T'niel remaining as Weyrleader. But with the arrival of a transfer goldrider, Levay, will Solaria's next senior Weyrwoman be native or foreign? And who will become Weyrleader? Within sevendays of Levay's arrival, Wingleader T'kevi was out on sweeps when he discovered crackdust, confirming Thread's return. Pern must now prepare itself to meet its oldest enemy, but is it ready? Other events that have occured within the last fifteen Turns include females Impressing to greens and even to blues, though the latter is still extremely rare. Even female Impressions to green are not that common – old ways of thinking are still holding strong in some places, and girls are often forbidden by their families to accept Search when there is no gold egg. The Eighth Pass has begun. Many believed that it would come, but belief alone is not enough to prepare a planet to face its most ancient enemy. The underpopulated Weyrs will do their best, but is their best good enough? And with political turmoil thanks to the women's rights movement, will Pern's traditions be maintained for much longer? Solaria Weyr is a canon, Eighth Pass Pern role-playing game. Women have begun Impressing to green and rarely blue dragons in the past two decades, and the female fight for equal rights is a major part of our game. Solaria Weyr offers an active Hold for role-play (complete with a most interesting Lord Holder!), on-going plots that involve all characters, dragons custom written for their Impressees, friendly players from a wide variety of time zones, and a laid back atmosphere. Our next clutch will contain a gold egg, and also heralds a change in Weyrleadership. If Solaria Weyr sounds like the place for you, why not check us out?

The Eighth Pass has begun. Many believed that it would come, but belief alone is not enough to prepare a planet to face its most ancient enemy. The underpopulated Weyrs will do their best, but is their best good enough? And with political turmoil all around thanks to the women's rights movement, will Pern's traditions be maintained for much longer? Solaria Weyr is a canon, Eighth Pass Pern role-playing game. Women have begun Impressing to green and rarely blue dragons in the past two decades, and the female fight for equal rights is a major part of our game. Solaria Weyr offers an active Hold (complete with a most interesting Lord Holder!) and Harper Hall, on-going plots that involve all characters, dragons custom written for their Impressees, friendly players from a wide variety of time zones, and a very laid back atmosphere. We are currently looking for characters for the recently opened Harper Hall, potential candidates for our next clutch clutch, which will be laid in mid June for a late June hatching. We also need some bronze riders who could potentially sire the clutch Gold Bacapth will be rising at the beginning of May, so if you're interested in creating a bronze rider, it's best to get in there early! The player of the sire will be offered a place on the Search Committee, the group of players who write dragons for candidates. Information on the Search Committee can be found here. Details of our previous clutches can be found here. In addition to this, a plot surrounding Mathon Hold is running alongside this clutch. Details surrounding this can be found here. If Solaria Weyr sounds like the place for you, why not check us out?

Are you looking for an active, canon Pern role-playing game? Solaria Weyr might be able to offer you just that. With a friendly group of players from the US, Canada, and the UK and an admin who listens to what the players want, we're an exciting and ever-evolving game. We offer an active Hold and Harper Hall (the latter introduced due to players' requests), on-going and short-term plots, and an alternative 8th Pass to explore, where women are beginning to break free of their traditional roles. And if you're interested in dragons, we run hatchings with dragons written individually for their weyrlings-to-be. So what's going on now and in the future? We have: - Weyrlings from our latest clutch up for adoption - Solaria's only female blue rider up for adoption - A fire-lizard clutch in early August - An on-going plot involving tension between the Weyr and an NPC Hold - A hatching planned for the end of this year If we sound like the place for you, why not come take a look?

Now six years old, the game is going from strength to strength! Lady Erihime has been removed as Ketrin Hold's regent by the Conclave's vote, and has been replaced by a man. How will the Hold deal with this shifting of their leadership? And how many fosterlings will the Northern Holds push onto Ketrin, exactly? If you want to get involved in intriguing Hold politics, there's never been a better time - just come and ask! We are particularly keen on finding a player for the Lord taking over from Erihime at Ketrin. At Solaria Weyr, Ceocayath has been flown by bronze Tauchisath, which means that we are entering a Search cycle. If you want a chance at Impressing one of our beautifully-written dragons, now is the best time to join and get active with a potential candidate character! Drop by and feel free to ask questions! solariaweyr.proboards.com

What's going on at Solaria Weyr? Lord Darish has disappeared from Ver Hold, the Hold he established. His wife Arisime has called the Holders together - but what has happened to Darish? Ver is determined to find out. At Ketrin, Lord Regent Ternary is available for adoption, to new and old players alike. All we want is enthusiasm and willingness to get involved in our community! More information can be found here. At the Weyr, Femaith will be our next gold to have a played clutch. Now is a great time to join and start developing a potential candidate for the clutch! We'd especially love more male candidates. We are currently in the middle of one of our bi-annual played Threadfalls, so expect lots of injured dragons and riders! A number of the younger members of the Weyr are working with Weyrwoman Reva, as part of our dragonhealer plot, if that interests you. solariaweyr.proboards.com
